Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall’s BYU Cougars have had a tremendous season going 10-2. Their losses came to Florida State and undefeated TCU. The Cougars are led by outstanding QB Max Hall and TE Dennis Pitta. Pitta has hauled in 57 balls for 784 yards and seven touchdowns on the season. Underrated RB Harvey Unga ran for over a 1,000 yards and had ten rushing scores.

The 8-4 Oregon State Beavers lost to Oregon in the Civil War in a game that sent the winner to the Rose Bowl. The Beavers have a good QB in their own right in Sean Canfield. However, the key for the Beavers is the Rodgers brothers. RB Jacquizz is super quick and will be a challenge for the Cougar defense. Jacquizz ran for 1,377 yards and 20 scores in the regular season. The other Rodgers, James, hauled in 87 receptions for 1,004 yards and nine touchdowns.

Prediction: The Cougars were pummeled against athletic Florida State a team similar to Oregon State. BYU plays solid defense but will have a difficult time containing the Rogers’ brothers who will make explosive plays. The Beavers are very good on offense but questionable on defense. They will struggle with the balanced offense of the Cougars. This will be a very tight contest with Max Hall and Dennis Pitta making big plays to secure the victory. BYU 43 Oregon State 39
