Mountain West PreviewWeek 12
Week 11 Recap: BYU, surprisingly had a tough time with winless New Mexico. The Cougars escaped with a 24-19 victory. Air Force dominated UNLV 45-17. The Falcons racked up 431 yards in the victory. UNLV fired head coach Mike Sanford following the loss. Wyoming defeated San Diego State 30-27. QB Austyn Carta-Samuels threw for 246 yards and a score in the victory. The game of the year in the conference was dominated by the #4 TCU Horned Frogs. TCU lambasted Utah 55-28.
Week 12:Air Force at BYU: The Cougars have won 5 in a row in the series. QB Max Hall and RB Harvey Unga are both approaching school records. Air Force’s triple option has produced one of the best rushing attacks in the nation. They will find success but it won’t be enough to hang with Max Hall and the Cougar offense. BYU 31 Air Force 20
Colorado State at New Mexico: A game between two teams mired in unsuccessful seasons; nevertheless it should be a tight contest. The Lobos have played much better of late and will get their 1 st victory of the season. New Mexico 27 Colorado State 20
SDSU at Utah: The Aztecs are coming off of a tough loss to Wyoming while Utah looks to bounce back from being annihilated by TCU. Aztec QB Ryan Lindley will have some success against the Utah secondary but it won‘t be enough. QB Jordan Wynn and RB Eddie Wide will have monster games in leading Utah to the victory. Utah 39 SDSU 20
TCU at Wyoming: The Horned Frogs travel to Laramie to face a much improved Wyoming team. TCU’s defense will harass Cowboy QB Austyn Carta-Samuels forcing turnovers and creating short fields for their offense. Look for Andy Dalton to have a big day as the Horned Frogs cruise to another easy victory. TCU 54 Wyoming 27
