Mountain West RecapWeek 7
Air Force- The Falcons faced the much improved Wyoming Cowboys. Air Force pitched a surprising shutout defeating the Cowboys 10-0. The Falcons shut down freshmen QB Austyn Carta-Samuels who came into the game on a role. Carta-Samuels threw for only 74 yards with two interceptions. Next: The Falcons travel to Utah on October 24 th BYU- The Cougars had a tougher time with San Diego State than most expected winning 38-28. QB Max Hall was very good once again throwing for 346 yards and three touchdowns which was enough to escape with the close victory. Next: The Cougars host #8 TCU in the game of the year in the Mountain West on October 24 th Colorado State- The Rams didn’t give the #8 Horned Frogs of TCU much of a test. TCU defeated the Rams 44-6 holding starting QB Grant Stucker to 59 yards passing. Next: The Rams host San Diego State on October 24 th New Mexico- Bye Week. Next: The Lobos host UNLV on October 24th San Diego State- The Aztecs returned from a bye week to face the very tough BYU Cougars. The Aztecs kept the game competitive as QB Ryan Lindley threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns but it wasn’t enough as BYU got the victory 38-28. Next: The Aztecs travel to Colorado State on October 24 th TCU- The #8 Horned Frogs looked very impressive once again in dominating the Colorado State Rams. The TCU defense was incredible yet again. TCU QB Andy Dalton gets little credit due to the dominating defense but he has proven to be an efficient winner. Next: The Horned Frogs face their toughest test of the season as they travel to BYU on October 24 th UNLV- The Rebels played poorly once again against the Utah Utes falling to 0-3 in the conference with a 35-15 loss to Utah. Next: The Rebels look to break their losing streak when they travel to New Mexico on October 24 th Utah- The Utes dominated the putrid Rebels of UNLV for a 35-15 victory. Utah QB Terrance Cain threw two touchdowns and also had a rushing score in the victory. Next: Utah hosts Air Force on October 24 th in what will be a very tight ballgame Wyoming- The Cowboys traveled to Air Force to face a tough Falcon squad. Wyoming couldn’t get their offense going in a tough 10-0 loss. Freshmen QB Austyn Carta-Samuels had his worst performance of the season throwing for only 74 yards. Next: The Cowboys will lick their wounds during a bye week before traveling to Utah on October 31 st
