Utah Utes @ TCU Horned Frogs Basketball Recap

Utah 75, TCU 62

The Utah Utes defeated the Texas Christian Horned Frogs in Mountain West Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum in Ft. Worth, Texas.  Head coach JIm Boylen's Utes have now won three straight MWC games after dropping their previous three.  The Frogs dropped to 1-5 after Saturday's action.

Junior college transfer Will Clyburn led the Utes with 22 points and 9 rebounds on the day. The Utes shot 61 percent from the field in the first half, and finished the game at 55 percent.  Guard Josh Watkins consistently pushed the tempo and scored 14 points. Shawn Glover added 11 points. The Utes dominated the glass and the three-point line, a combo which proved to much for TCU to overcome. 

Head coach Jim Christian's Frogs were able to keep the contest relatively close throughout despite the hot shooting of the Utes.  It was only a 5 point game at halftime and was below double-digits for much of the second half but TCU could not seriously challenge.  Hank Thomas filled up the stat sheet for the Frogs, scoring 18 points grabbing six rebounds and dishing out 6 assists.  Nikola Cerina scored 14 points while Garlon Green had 12 in a losing effort for the home team.
