TCU and New Mexico to represent Mountain West in NCAA baseball tourney

The Horned Frogs will host this weekend at Lupton Stadium

It looked as though the Mountain West may be a one-bid league.

However, New Mexico, which entered the MWC tourney with a dismal 16-39 mark, managed to produce an improbable four-game win streak to give the league two teams in the field.

TCU (42-17), which hosted a regional last season en route to its appearance in the CWS, will have the luxury of hosting at Lupton Stadium.  The Horned Frogs will play No. 4 seed Oral Roberts (36-20), the champion of the Summit League tourney.  They will play either No. 2 seed Oklahoma (41-17) or No. 3 Dallas Baptist (39-17) on Saturday.  DBU is making just its second-ever tourney appearance after receiving an at-large bid.

The Lobos (20-39) will travel to Tempe where they will take on host Arizona State on Friday.  The top-seeded Sun Devils (39-16) finished tied for second in the Pac-10.  UNM will then play either No. 2 Arkansas (38-20) or No. 3 Charlotte (42-14) on Saturday.
