TCU and New Mexico to represent Mountain West in NCAA baseball tourneyThe Horned Frogs will host this weekend at Lupton Stadium
It looked as though the Mountain West may be a one-bid league. However, New Mexico, which entered the MWC tourney with a dismal 16-39 mark, managed to produce an improbable four-game win streak to give the league two teams in the field. TCU (42-17), which hosted a regional last season en route to its appearance in the CWS, will have the luxury of hosting at Lupton Stadium. The Horned Frogs will play No. 4 seed Oral Roberts (36-20), the champion of the Summit League tourney. They will play either No. 2 seed Oklahoma (41-17) or No. 3 Dallas Baptist (39-17) on Saturday. DBU is making just its second-ever tourney appearance after receiving an at-large bid. The Lobos (20-39) will travel to Tempe where they will take on host Arizona State on Friday. The top-seeded Sun Devils (39-16) finished tied for second in the Pac-10. UNM will then play either No. 2 Arkansas (38-20) or No. 3 Charlotte (42-14) on Saturday.
